The KTM X-Bow GT-XR is getting its biggest update yet under new ownership, which also sets up a confirmed push into the US market. The track-focused road car gets a new Factory 600 upgrade package, aimed at lifting performance beyond the standard GT-XR.

The car's maker also operates under new Belgian ownership. KTM Sportcar GmbH, the unit behind the X-Bow, is now wholly owned by an investor consortium led by rally driver Guillaume de Mévius, whose family are long-time shareholders in Anheuser-Busch InBev, parent firm to brands including Budweiser, Corona, and Stella Artois.

The de Mévius investment now gives the X-Bow line deep-pocketed backing separate from KTM's motorcycle business. According to the new ownership group, the acquisition is meant to give the X-Bow range a stable, dedicated home to grow. The Factory 600 package is the clearest sign yet of what that growth looks like on the spec sheet.

Increased Output And Sharper Aero

Factory 600 reworks the GT-XR's Audi-sourced 2.5-liter five-cylinder engine with an uprated intake manifold, a new turbocharger, and a larger intercooler. Together they lift output by about 92 horsepower over the regular GT-XR, taking the total to 592 hp.

Alongside the engine work, KTM offers an Evo aerodynamic kit. It adds a sharper front splitter, a set of canards ahead of the front wheels, and new louvres cut into the fender wings to help manage airflow at speed.

Equipment changes round out the update, and they cut both ways. Every X-Bow now gets a 7.0-inch infotainment screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a genuine comfort upgrade for a car built around minimalism.

KTM has revised the rear-view setup for this specification. The package adds traditional folding side mirrors alongside the camera-based system, with the focus still on keeping weight low.

Street-Focused X-Bow For The US

The biggest news for America arrives alongside the GT-XR's hardware changes. KTM X-Bow and its US partner Carbon Yard have confirmed the X-Bow GT-XA, a road-focused version engineered specifically for American buyers.

The GT-XA is planned as a US-market evolution of the carbon-monocoque X-Bow concept, built in Graz, Austria, and commissioned one at a time. KTM and Carbon Yard are offering 30 numbered production allocations for the first year, with fully refundable $50,000 reservations now open under a written reservation agreement.

American specification calls for a suspension package with adjustable compression and rebound damping, a front-axle lift system for driveways and garages, and added equipment for everyday use including tire-pressure monitoring and bespoke interior trims. US pricing is anticipated at $490,000 and under, with final figures and full technical data still to come.

The GT-XA is not yet approved for US street use. Carbon Yard is working toward American street-legal status, and KTM X-Bow USA targets first customer deliveries in 2027, subject to that approval.
