Ford is recalling 102,159 F-Series trucks because the analog speedometer and tachometer can stick or swing on their own, feeding drivers inaccurate readings. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration posted campaign 26V653 this week, tied to a faulty module inside the instrument cluster.
The affected range covers certain heavy-duty trucks built for the 2025 and 2026 model years and light-duty trucks from the 2026 model year. Owner notification letters go out starting October 26, and Ford plans to have replacement parts available in a December 7–11 window.

Recall 26C46 covers select 2025 and 2026 F-250, F-350, F-450, F-550, and F-600 Super Duty trucks, along with 2026 F-150 and F-750 Super Duty models. Ford has not flagged every truck built in that window, only units that received a specific instrument cluster supplier batch.
The Super Duty and F-600 models account for 91,588 of the recalled trucks, by far the bulk of the campaign, while the 2026 F-150 adds another 10,570 units to the total. The fix is to replace the affected instrument cluster modules rather than perform unrelated repairs on other systems.
Fleet managers running mixed Super Duty and F-150 rosters should check every truck in the window separately, since the two lines draw from different production runs. Owners can confirm their status through Ford's VIN lookup tool or NHTSA's recall site using campaign number 26V653.
This is far from Ford's only safety campaign this year. The automaker has also had to recall vehicles for disengaging transmissions and a fuel tank defect on F-150 trucks.
Faulty Speedometers And Tachometers Can Show Inaccurate Readings

The defect centers on a module that reads data for the analog speedometer and tachometer needles. When it fails, the needle can freeze in place, jump erratically, or simply stop tracking engine speed and vehicle speed accurately.
A speedometer that reads low or freezes mid-drive means a driver has no reliable way to judge how fast they are actually going, raising the odds of an unintentional speeding violation or a misjudged merge. A stuck tachometer carries less immediate risk but can mask an engine running outside its normal range.

Ford has not confirmed any crashes or injuries tied to the defect as of this recall filing. The company traced the issue to a cluster module supplier and is coordinating with NHTSA on the remedy timeline.
Because the fix touches hardware embedded in the cluster, there is no over-the-air patch available. Owners will need to visit a dealer once the instrument-cluster module is available in December, and the repair is free under warranty.
