Daytona SP3 Values Explode With A $26 Million Charity Sale

Ferrari created a 599-car limited-series run of the Daytona SP3, and every one found a buyer before the car ever turned a wheel in public. It also commissioned a separate Tailor Made example beyond that allocation for a 2025 Monterey charity auction that brought $26 million, the first public benchmark for a brand-new SP3.

Now a different kind of benchmark is coming. A former Ferrari-owned development and press Daytona SP3 with around 2,900 miles and finished in Giallo Triplo Strato over Rosso Ferrari will cross the block at RM Sotheby’s London sale on October 31, 2026 with a published estimate of $10,000,000 to $13,000,000, giving buyers a high-profile non-charity datapoint to set against that record result.

The Ferrari Daytona SP3 is the third car in Ferrari's limited-run Icona series, built around a naturally aspirated 6.5-liter V12 that makes 829 horsepower at 9,250 rpm. That engine, and the car's targa-style body inspired by Ferrari's 1960s Le Mans prototypes, are central to why collectors are paying well above list for one.

The Result Of The 2025 Auction

RM Sotheby's, which runs its Monterey and London sales results lot by lot on its own site, handled the sale that drove the first big conversation around Daytona SP3 pricing. The auction house's public result pages are the only verified record of what any individual car brought.

A single Tailor Made Daytona SP3, often described as the "599+1" car, sold at a 2025 RM Sotheby's Monterey charity auction for $26 million, a record result for a brand-new Ferrari at the time. That sale was not a typical dealer transaction. It was a charity event, which tends to pull in bidders willing to pay a premium for the cause as much as the car.

Collectors watching the coachbuilt Ferrari market have seen similar patterns before as scarcity plus a strong provenance story can pull hammer prices well past MSRP for the right one-off. The Daytona SP3 fits that mold because Ferrari capped production at 599 cars, then built a single extra Tailor Made example and allocated the standard run to existing clients.

Unlike open-order models, there is no waiting list a new buyer can join. Anyone who wants one today has to go through the secondary market. That was the dynamic the Monterey charity result made visible in hard numbers.

The SP3's Original Price

Ferrari never published a single global MSRP for the Daytona SP3 the way it does for series-production models, since allocation and pricing for Icona cars run through private client relationships. That makes calculating a clean before-and-after comparison more difficult.

What is verifiable is the gap itself. A limited-run Daytona SP3 with a high-spec, naturally aspirated V12 and coachbuilt-style bodywork has, in one documented charity case, reached eight figures at auction under specific conditions. The $26 million sale sits far above other reported Daytona SP3 values, which cluster in the mid-single-digit millions at most.

The $26 million benchmark has already been surpassed by Ferrari's Luce charity car, which brought about $40 million at a 2026 Monterey auction and now holds the "most expensive new car at auction" mark.
