Chassis No. 47 has covered just 62 miles since it left Gordon Murray Automotive's factory in 2024. It has never been registered or used by its owner, and it now heads to auction with guidance that could push the price past $6 million.

RM Sotheby's will offer the car through its Sealed platform from September 23 to 30, 2026. The estimate sits between $5.68 million and $6.22 million, roughly twice what the model cost when new.

Chassis 47 And Its $6.22 Million Estimate

Gordon Murray Automotive built 100 examples of the T.50, and chassis 47 stands out even within that small run. It remains unregistered and undriven by its owner, effectively a new car that carries a four-year-old build date.

"All T.50s are unique, but this one is extra special, and not only because of the number 47 connection," said Harvey Stanley, RM Sotheby's director of private sales. "It is unregistered, undriven by the owner, and has an amazing specification."

Buyers paid £2.36 million (about $3 million) when Gordon Murray Automotive first offered the T.50 online in August 2020. The entire allocation sold out in less than two days as collectors rushed to secure the analog hypercar.

Stanley highlighted how early owners have already benefited. "The model has already doubled in value in just six years, so there is no reason to think prices will not continue to rise," he said. Another example, chassis 009, brought $8,035,000 at auction in April 2023, well above the range now attached to chassis 47.

A 654-HP V12 Built Around The Driver

The T.50 leans into analog engineering at a time when most hypercars rely on hybrid powertrains and electric assist. Under the rear deck sits a 3.9-liter naturally aspirated Cosworth V12 engine producing 654 hp that revs to 12,100 rpm with no turbocharging or electric motor in the mix.

The engine moves a car weighing less than 2,200 pounds, which goes a long way toward explaining its performance. Gordon Murray Automotive quotes a zero to 60 mph time of 2.9 seconds and a top speed of 226 mph, figures that match or exceed many heavier, more powerful rivals.

The interior follows the same philosophy, with minimal digital distractions and a layout focused on the person behind the wheel. A three-seat cabin with the driver in the middle, borrowed from Murray's McLaren F1 playbook, keeps the experience centered on the car rather than screens.

RM Sotheby's Sealed format keeps every bid private and the final price confidential, a sharp contrast with the theater of a traditional live auction. It is the same structure the house is using this month for a rare matte-black Ferrari Enzo.

Motor1's Take: This T.50 is an almost brand-new snapshot of what buyers will pay for Gordon Murray’s vision of an analog hypercar. Chassis 47 should clear its already strong estimate, but the real benchmark stays with chassis 009’s $8,035,000 result.
