- The 2027 Rogue E-Power Hybrid reaches US dealers November 2026, imported from Japan at one or two units per dealer.
- Inventory should reach about 6,000 units by March 2027 when two additional trims join the lineup.
- Nissan's E-Power is a series hybrid with a turbocharged 1.5-liter three-cylinder engine that only generates electricity; rivals use parallel hybrids.
Nissan has moved the 2027 Rogue E-Power Hybrid's US launch up twice, and the crossover now lands at dealers in November 2026, roughly nine months ahead of its original schedule. The timing is not an accident.
Rogue sales fell 11 percent in 2025 to 217,896 units, and Nissan's segment share slipped to 7.6 percent while demand for electrified models kept climbing. Getting a hybrid Rogue to market fast is now the priority, even if supply cannot keep up right away.

2027 Nissan Rogue E-Power Hybrid Hits US Dealers Early
Automotive News reports that Nissan will initially import the 2027 Rogue hybrid from Japan, shipping just one or two units to each of its roughly 1,050 US retailers when the model arrives in November. That is a trickle, not a launch wave.
Nissan knows exactly how much ground it needs to make up. Hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and battery-electric vehicles together reached about 24 percent of US light-duty sales in the second quarter of 2026, up from 22 percent a year earlier, so waiting until the original mid-2027 timeline was clearly not an option anymore.
The early cars arrive in a single upper-grade trim, so shoppers hunting a base hybrid Rogue will have to wait months longer than those interested in the loaded version. Inventory should reach about 6,000 units by March 2027, when two additional trims join the lineup and volume finally starts to look like a real launch.
Production stays split for a while. The gas-only next-generation Rogue builds at Nissan's Smyrna, Tennessee plant starting summer 2027, but the hybrid does not get domestic production until early 2028. Until then, every E-Power Rogue crosses the Pacific first, which is exactly why dealers are bracing for thin lots into early next year.

The E-Power Playbook Against RAV4 And CR-V
Nissan's E-Power setup is not a conventional hybrid. It is a series hybrid with two electric drive units doing all the wheel-turning, while a turbocharged 1.5-liter three-cylinder engine exists purely to generate electricity and never touches the drivetrain directly. You can read more about how that hardware layout differs in our breakdown of Nissan's unique hybrid system.
Nissan has used E-Power on models like the Note and X-Trail in other markets for years, so the Rogue brings an established series-hybrid layout to the US rather than a clean-sheet concept. The brand frames the powertrain as EV-like propulsion without the charging routine of a battery-electric vehicle, and that pitch is the whole point of going up against the RAV4 and CR-V hybrids. Our first drive review of the Rogue Hybrid gets into how that driving character actually feels on the road.
Both rivals use power-split hybrid systems where the gas engine can drive the wheels directly or act as a generator, instead of running as a generator all the time. Both models are already sitting on dealer lots in full supply.

Nissan also has a separate Rogue plug-in hybrid on sale in North America for 2026, built by Mitsubishi as a rebadged Outlander PHEV and positioned as a one-year stopgap until the E-Power Rogue arrives. Whether tight allocation weakens the Rogue's momentum before it starts is the open question.
Motor1's Take: Nissan is buying time with a high-trim, low-volume rollout to get the Rogue Hybrid into reviews and showrooms. Shoppers who want a base trim should plan to choose a rival until allocation widens. Success depends on how fast Nissan increases supply and how dealers price it.
