2027 Corvette Stingray Will Get The New 6.7L LS6 V8 Engine
The engine makes 535 horsepower and 520 pound-feet of torque.
The BreakdownL
- The 2027 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray will get the automaker’s new 6.7-liter LS6 V8 engine.
- It makes 535 horsepower and 520 pound-feet of torque, 40 more than the outgoing 6.2-liter V8.
- Chevrolet made several other minor tweaks to the Stingray for 2027.
While the new 2027 Grand Sport and Grand Sport X grab the headlines, Chevrolet also made a few changes to the Stingray for the upcoming model year. It, too, will get the automaker’s new 6.7-liter LS6 V8 engine.
The naturally aspirated engine produces 535 horsepower and 520 pound-feet of torque, making it the "most powerful standard engine ever offered on Corvette." The engine has a 13.0:1 compression ratio, a 95-millimeter throttle body, a “tunnel ram intake,” forged pistons and rods, and a new lubrication system. The outgoing 6.2-liter V8 makes up to 495 hp and 470 lb-ft of torque.
Chevrolet also updated the Stingray’s Magnetic Ride Control software. Those who opt for the ZR1 Performance Pack get a shorter 5.56:1 final drive ratio, revised aerodynamics, and newly developed Michelin Pilot Sport S 5 tires.
The 2026 Corvette Stingray starts at $72,495, including the $2,495 destination charge. We expect the Stingray’s price to increase with the new powertrain and other tweaks, and would not be surprised if it starts closer to $75,000. The updated Corvette should go on sale sometime this summer and will sit below the new Grand Sport.
Motor1’s Take: This is the first major update for the C8 Corvette Stingray. It establishes a new floor for the lineup with more than 500 horsepower, and it will be interesting to see how the rest of the lineup shakes out.
